As we transition into 2017, it’s time to look forward.

Thank you to all members who voted in 2016! It is an honor to be the new CATI President for 2017-2018. A warm welcome to two other recently elected board members: Mary Chen, Vice President, and Graciela White, Director.

Planning for our 2017 Conference is solidly underway. It will take place at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem on Saturday, April 8, 2017. We will also offer an ATA Exam sitting on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the same location.

Follow CATI’s social media for upcoming dates for CATI Socials and other events in the Triangle, Charlotte, and South Carolina as well. Check us out on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter!

Are you a translator who is thinking of working as an interpreter? Are you an interpreter thinking of working as a translator? I encourage you to cross-mentor. Or maybe someone you know is a fellow linguist, a new client, a fellow student or participant in a workshop, an instructor, or someone you have been following on Twitter or LinkedIn? Reach out to network and share information.

Keep your connection to CATI going strong! Sustain your membership, and encourage others to join our fantastic association of translators and interpreters in the Carolinas.

Happy New Year, everyone!
